Odds and Ends!

A bunch of random stuff!!

Liam and Lilah got to hang out with Cayah and Ike while Caroline had her doctor appointment last Friday!!  Looks like they had a TON of fun (as usual when hanging with Cayah and Ike!!)  Who else besides Cayah and Ike would let you ride bikes in the house?!?!?!

We got to have "Sunday Dinner" on Sunday night with Cayah, Ike, Uncle Randy, Auntie MerMer and sweet sweet baby Nolan!!!  The Fuzzy's in Carrollton had no idea what had hit them by the time our crew left!  I just love love love when we can get together with the family!  We have made it happen the last two weeks, so maybe it will be our tradition!!

Liam had so much fun giving baby Nolan kisses!

Our sweet big girl is SO wonderful with her baby cousin Nolan!!

We love love love spending time with our awesome family!

UPDATE:  Caroline's surgery has been scheduled for this Friday (Feb. 3)!  Please pray that it all goes well and our sweet girl gets some relief from all of this sinus trouble!  Liam and Lilah will spend the night Thursday and the day on Friday with Cayah and Ike so Mommy and Daddy can snuggle the patient!

CT Scans and Cuddles!

Well today we had a CT scan of Caroline's head to try to find out why we still can't get her sinus issues under control.  She also developed an ear infection this week even after 21 days on an antibiotic, so we obviously need a new approach to trying to get her well!  I was worried about how she would react to the scan because she is deathly afraid of any new procedures that involve large chairs in doctor offices!  When Dr. Ehmer walked in to examine her on Wednesday she asked, "Are you going to make me sit in that ridiculous chair?"! Crazy girl!  She did AWESOME for the scan though!  Dr. Ehmer was fabulous and took her in to look at the chair and explained on Wednesday how everything would go so she was ready for today!  She was so brave and the hardest part was getting her to stop talking for the 20 seconds it took to get the pictures!
The CT scan showed that even after 3 weeks on an antibiotic, her sinuses are still completely filled and infected.  Dr. Ehmer said that in adult this would be considered very significant sinusitis and in a child its even more severe.  Surgery is her only option at this point.  They will be going in to her sinuses and making them larger so that they work better and drain more efficiently.  She will then have to have a second surgery 10-14 days later to remove scar tissue.  We haven't scheduled the surgery yet, but it will probably be in the next couple of weeks.  Its going to be a tough road to recover from two surgeries, but we are hoping this will be what it takes to get our sweet girl well!!  Please pray all goes well with surgery and recovery and that this is the answer we have been searching for!  Silly girl had a little fun with her sticker on the way home!!

Lilah has developed a big love for her baby doll that Santa brought her!  She named it "baby" and baby must go to bed and nap with her and goes most places with her during the day!  Poor baby does get carried around by her leg a lot though!!  :)

Since Lilah was always looking for her baby and carrying her around, Liam decided he needed someone to love too!  He now has "bear"!  The picture is blurry because he WOULD NOT stop moving!!  Silly boy!

New Year's Resolution!

Ok so my New Year's Resolution is to keep up with the blog better!!  I have been reading a lot of new blogs and I LOVE them as a family journal!  I need to do a better job of keeping up with ours because I am not writing down all of the funny, crazy, cute things these sweeties are doing anywhere else!  I am struggling with getting all of my pictures off of my iphone onto the computer so I can put them into the blog (any suggestions are totally appreciated tech savvy buddies! :) ), but I am going to do a better job!!
P.S. I am aware that I am just now getting around to my New Year's Resolution at the end of January - better late than never!!

SO, to update on everyone!!

This handsome guy is doing awesome!!  Liam is our little engineer!  He loves to take things apart and put them back together and figure out how every button in our house works!  He LOVES his sisters and talks up a storm!  He still has a little trouble being left in the mornings at school and would rather stay with mama, but he is doing much better than he was at the beginning of the year!  He is such a sweet and happy boy and is having a blast keeping track of his sisters!!

This little princess is just too sweet!  She LOVES to write and read books!  She will carry a pen around all day long and pause to "take notes"!  Its too funny!  Lilah loves all things girly and loves to have her hair done and wear dresses!  That sweet smile hides quite a mischievous little attitude and she can throw quite the diva fit when she wants to!  She is also our sweet cuddlebug that loves to crawl in your lap and snuggle!

Liam and Lilah's twin bond has really become stronger each day!  They LOVE each other so much and can't stand to be separated!  They have their own language (we call it the "beye da beye" language because it is beye da beye over and over again) and have long conversations with each other and then run off like they made a decision to go do something!  Its SO funny and sweet to watch!

Our sweet (chocolate loving!) Caroline is doing great too!  She loves to play pretend with her "people" (Disney figures - Thank you so much Anna Claire for introducing her to them years ago!! - They are her FAVORITE!!), and she has a new love for all things Barbie!  She got her hearing aides and we were blessed to have the help of our fabulous doctors to receive a grant from the United Healthcare Children's Fund to help offset the cost!  We are still having some issues with them fitting correctly, but overall she has been SUCH a champ adjusting to them!  She loves being able to hear and it has made such a difference in her whole personality!  We are still struggling with her health issues.  After several more sinus infections and a case of the flu, her pediatrician decided to refer us to an immunologist for an immune system work up.  After several (not fun for Caroline AT ALL) tests, we still really have no answers as to why she is sick so much and why her nose is ALWAYS running.  We have another blood draw this week (Pray for us please!  She is always so scared and upset for these!) and a follow up appointment with the immunologist on Jan. 30th.  We are just praying for some answers.  I don't want anything to be wrong with her but I am desperate to figure out how to help her.  She is SO tired of being sick and upset because kids at school make fun of her because she always has boogers (breaks. my. heart.), so I am just praying praying praying that we can figure something out for her!!

SO that is the update on our crazy lives right now!  We haven't been doing many fun outings or playdates for the last few months due to all of the doctor appointments, hearing aide appointments, and the holidays, so hopefully we can start doing more of that now!  The babies are getting big enough to enjoy going to do more things so I am anticipating many more fun adventures (and blog posts about them ;) ) soon!!  If anyone wants to do a playdate let me know!  WE are available most Mondays and Fridays!!!
